For over 40 years, the Mesilla Valley Chorale has inspired and entertained Las Crucens, and provided an ideal opportunity for experienced singers to share their passion for choral music. Known for musical excellence and versatility, this community chorale performs a variety of four-part music ranging from Classical to Pops.
Experienced choral singers from all walks of life are welcome to join us.
If you are interested in singing with us, we invite you to call Nancy Ritchey to arrange to sit in on a rehearsal. After rehearsal, if the music feels comfortable for you, we hold a brief audition to check your range, tone, ability to match pitch and hold your part while others sing something different around you.The ability to read music is helpful, but many learn by repetition. If you have a good ear to match what you hear, you qualify!
The MVC year consists of two semesters.Fall semester begins the Monday after Labor Day with rehearsals weekly to the December concert.Spring semester begins mid-January with weekly rehearsals until the May concert.Rehearsals are held on Monday nights from at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on the corner of Alameda and Griggs.Saturday sectional rehearsals are also available.Membership dues are $55 per semester.
